Dear Jõekääru families,

We’re excited to invite you and your children to a special hands-on day at Jõekääru to see—and help with—the honey extraction from our bee hives!

• Date: Sunday, September 7th
• Time: 10:30am – 2:30pm
• Location: 40 Nurme Ave.

We’ll begin the day at the bee yard, where we will demonstrate how we measure the level of varroa mite infestation in each hive—a vital part of keeping our bees healthy.

After that, we’ll move to the kitchen back deck for the main event: the honey extraction! Everyone will get to see the process from start to finish, and of course, there will be opportunities to get sticky (in the best way).

Please note:

• Bring your own lunch
• Parent/guardian supervision needed for all children
• Wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothes
• LOST & FOUND from camp will be available in the main office during this time
